Game Over by Kordian Lewandowski Polish sculptor Kordian Lewandowski reinterprets the classic Pietà - a topic in Christian art based around the Lamentation from the Passion of Christ - using polystyrene and 8-bit mythology. I’m going to try to avoid over-thinking the way in which the Princess Peach/Mario and Virgin Mary/Jesus relationships can be thought to parallel each other. Fun Fact: Perhaps the most famous example of this form, the Pietà by Michelangelo located in St. Peter’s Basilica was the only sculpture the artist ever signed.
